In this age of information technology it’s the internet that has truly brought about globalization. Much depends on the internet; after all it connects us all across the globe. And it is the web browser that takes us through various websites across the internet. Now for a better surfing experience, besides a good internet connection, you need to have a better web browser as well. Now the question is, how to make your web browser perform well? There are certain ways to do it. Get some tech support to explore those.
So with a fast internet connection, we need a good web browser for optimum performance. Here we would discuss ways to optimize Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE).
Nowadays IE7 are mostly used with IE8 being the latest in line.
Delete Temporary Internet Files Regularly
You need to delete the cached data in Internet Explorer regularly. IE stores the visited list of websites in “temporary internet files” for faster viewing later. You can specify the number of days that you want to store these files in the History for. This data is called the cached data in Internet Explorer and this should be deleted regularly for better performance. Get the help desk support to learn how you can do it:
● Open internet explorer 7.
● Click “tools” and then click “delete browsing history”.
● In “delete browsing history”, click “delete all”.
● Click to select the “Also delete files and settings stored by add-ons” check box, and then click OK.
● Open Internet Explorer 8.
● Click “Safety”, and then click “Delete Browsing History”.
● In “Delete Browsing History” area, click Delete.
Internet Explorer has security settings that blocks unwanted websites. But if the security is configured to be too restrictive then it can block a lot of desired sites also. Hence there should always be default security settings and this is how we do it:
● Open Internet Explorer.
● Click “Tools”, and then click “Internet Options”.
● Click the “Security” tab.
● Click “Reset all zones to default level” and then click OK.
Internet Explorer add-ons such as ActiveX controls and browser toolbars are used by some websites to provide an enhanced browsing experience. An error may occur if an add-on is damaged or if an add-on conflicts with Internet Explorer. To determine whether the error is caused by an add-on, run Internet Explorer in “No Add-Ons” mode. To do this, follow these steps:
● Click Start, and then type Internet Explorer in the Start Search box.
● Click Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons). Internet Explorer opens without add-ons, toolbars, or plug-ins.
Generally these are some of the steps needed for good IE performance. However, if these do not work, then the last option is to reset your Internet Explorer.
For IE7 and IE8:
● Go to “tools” then click “internet options”.
● Go to the “advanced” tab and click on “reset”.

Assuming you are like the majority of online surfers, you’re probably running a Microsoft Windows operating system and Internet Explorer for your Internet browser.
Why do more people use Internet Explorer? One reason could be simply because it’s integrated with the operating system of all Windows computers and is therefore the easiest option—no downloading necessary! It could be that many people don’t even know about the other browsers. Of course, there are a percentage of users that believe IE is simply better than other browsers. Lets see some comparisons:
IE: Biggest and best. Internet Explorer holds the largest market share for Internet browsers. They must be doing something (rather, things) right. Microsoft is clearly an expert in their industry and have a vast amount of resources. They are constantly working to improve their operating systems, software, speed and security. IE8 is now claimed by experts to be the safest browser. It’s new technology has matched or possibly surpassed its rivals in speed, features, and built-in search address bar.
Rebuttal: Microsoft’s large market share is why many people have avoided using Internet Explorer in the past and will continue to do so. Hackers can access the largest amount of computer users by attacking Microsoft because more people use their products than anyone else’s.
IE: Your Windows partner. Internet Explorer is deeply integrated with the Windows operating system. Using a browser that is an integral part of your operating system instead of downloading a browser can be beneficial. Windows automatically downloads (or alerts you to download) updates for the computer to keep your computer fast and safe. This means that people who are less familiar with computers don’t have to worry about installing updates if they use Internet Explorer—their computer can do it for them.
Rebuttal: New versions of Internet Explorer have caused multiple problems for Windows users, including the latest IE8. Some have even said that Internet Explorer is so much a part of Windows that it can almost not even be called a browser. Downloading IE can be more risky than downloading other browsers because of it’s close ties to the Windows operating system. Uninstalling IE8 could harm your computer or other software even further, should you change your mind.
Microsoft usually fixes their newest browser’s bugs soon after it is released, but too late for some. Many computer technicians recommend waiting several months before upgrading to new IE browsers.
IE: Match your personality. The latest version, IE8, has some unique and compelling new features that appeal to varying personalities. You can customize bookmarks, preset search queries, and choose from a growing list of add-ons. The new web slices and accelerators are built in to the browser, unlike Firefox, where they have to be individually downloaded.
Rebuttal: When it comes to features, IE has a record of being late in the game. IE7 was the last browser existing at the time to have tabbed browsing. IE8 finally matches the reliability of tab browsing that Firefox and Chrome feature, like session restore (returning tabs that unexpectedly close) and tab isolation (running processes separately in each tab to avoid crashing the whole window).
IE may have new features built in, but as a result, the download size is more than double that of other browsers. Many advanced computer users would argue that a browser like Firefox with over 6,000 add-ons is much more convenient, as you have the freedom to choose only the features you want. Others would prefer Google Chrome for it’s very simple layout but advanced and accelerated technology.
Perhaps one of the highest debated comparison is speed. Microsoft, Mozilla, and Google, all say their browser is the fastest according to their tests. You will probably just have to try them for yourself and see which browser performs the best with your particular connection speed and surfing habits.
For many reasons, one browser is simply not the best for everyone. If it was, there would be no debate. Thankfully, these browsers are easily accessible to compare for yourself. In fact, having two browsers can be beneficial for comparing features and troubleshooting “page cannot be displayed” errors. When you download a new browser, but sure to read or watch the videos demonstrating that browsers features to get the most out of your surfing experience. You may be surprised what you have been missing.

Q: I cannot download anything from Internet, not even a file attachment from my email. Everything stops at 99%. I was using Internet Download Manager earlier; but since it got expired, I am facing problem. Please help me understand and fix the problem. Is it due to problems on software, hardware, or internet connection?
A: There are many reasons leading to 99% download stop of Internet Explorer. Here we worked out two methods for your reference.
- Check if it was a Netload link. As is known to all, when the file is done transferring, Netload is known to not send a proper signal. It will make the download stop at 99%.
– Connection error caused the 99% download stop issue
If you’re not downloading a Netload premium link, and you encounter this error, please try the below steps. To resolve this, here’s what you should do:
- Ensure you’re using IDM (Internet Download Manager)
– Pause the download if it hangs or stops at 99%
– Check your User Control Panel, and click on ‘Show Downloads’
– Regenerate the link for the faulty download
– Copy the new link
– Replace the older link in IDM (Right Click -> Properties) with the new link, and resume your download
– Then your file will resume and the download will successfully complete
Check your IE8 settings. Open the Internet Options Settings dialog box, and switch to the tab “Advanced”. Option to ‘Check for Signatures on Download programs’ is disabled, and Option to ‘Check for Signatures on Download programs’ is enabled by default.
First of all, click the ‘Start’ button, and select ‘Run’. In the resulting dialog box, type ‘regedit’.
Then, go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftInternet ExplorerDownload]and right click on the String value ‘CheckExeSignatures ‘ and select ‘Modify’.
Finally set the value data as ‘no’. In this way ‘Check for Signatures on Download programs’ is disabled. Select ‘OK’. The procedure is accomplished.
Try to download and check if it is OK now.
Other reasons and methods:
1. IE download stops because Temporary Internet files folder is full, or the user doesn’t have write permissions to the download file. Try to empty the folder where Internet Explorer stores temporary Internet files, or select another path to save the download file.
IE downloads are usually first stored in a folder named Temporary Internet Files, and then moved to the target position. The ‘move’ process may trigger anti-virus software to monitor the files. If download files are of big size, anti-virus software may need a long scanning time. Up till the scan is finished, the download can be completed. That is a possible reason why Internet Explorer downloads stop at 99%.
2. If there is still no effect, you are recommended to use System Repair Software. System repair tools are designed to fix errors of Internet Explorer. With those tools you can safely clean, repair and optimize the Internet Explorer registry with a few simple mouse clicks. By scanning your browser regularly and fixing errors, your IE browser should not only be more stable but get improved on the aspect of your IE browser performance.

There are some intriguing features in Internet Explorer 8. It is a bit faster than Internet Explorer 7. He had much more to protect yourself against the bad guys on the Web and more easily find what you’re looking for, and how quickly the use of this information once you traced.
There are many important characteristics:
Smart Location Bar:
The address bar of Firefox 3 is so good, it is nicknamed the Awesome Bar. As you type, it searches a database containing the history of your bookmarks and comes and suggestions, based both on the web address and title of the site. It is my favorite feature in Firefox, and now there is a similar implementation in Internet Explorer 8. Microsoft calls this the “smart location bar,” and added RSS feeds and search suggestions for all. It also fixes a problem in version of Firefox, because it sorts the results according to their source. This makes it much easier to spot the result you want.
I have mixed feelings about this feature, which reminds me of the lame “Smart Tags” from Internet Explorer. In this case, when you select the text, an icon appears. Click it, and you can map a location, define a word, translate a foreign language, the selected text blog and more. This method uses a set of Web services that, by default, are provided by Microsoft. For example, the default mapping service is Windows Live Maps, but you can change it to Google or Yahoo, if you prefer. This saves a few clicks, but the same can be accomplished with good marks.
This concept is similar to Web Clips feature in the Mac version of Safari, but not as useful. There you can select an area on a Web page and simply turn that section into a Dashboard widget available from the Mac. In this you can put content on a page and it will appear as detailed in Internet Explorer 8 “search suggestions s. But there is a contrast of size: The website operator must include the code on its pages to use this feature. If your favorite sites do not, it is useless to you.
In Private Browsing:
Nicknamed “porn mode,” incognito lets you surf the Web without generating a history of your searches or visited pages. There is also a feature called In Private blockage that can block content on a site that is derived from another. But blocking does not begin until the third party site content distribution with a sufficiently high frequency. You can customize it to always allow some sites to deliver content, and always block the other. Both in personal navigation and bottlenecks are disabled by default. Whatever you close your browser, it is the standard behavior.
Firefox has long had the ability to restore pages that were loaded when it crashes. In Internet Explorer 7, the browser restarts after a crash, but only displays the homepage. Now, Internet Explorer 8 restores all open pages – but chances are it will not be necessary. This is because if an accident is caused by the content of a site, it does close the page, not the whole browser.
Microsoft has improved Windows security Internet Explorers “filter to also detect sites that might distribute security. The Smart Screen Filter will alert you if the site you are about to visit is suspect. I usually disable filter Internet Explorers security “because it seems to slow browsing, but the Smart Screen Filter seems much faster. In fact, I did not know he was still in operation and until I went to check its parameters. There’s also new support to detect and block attacks Cross Site Scripting, a common method to exploit browser vulnerabilities.
As with both Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer 7, a search box is integrated into Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 that lets you choose from multiple search engines. You are now able to switch between engines quickly, which made the jump from a search on eBay to one on Amazon much faster. Searches here also include sites from your history and favorites, like the Smart Location Bar. In addition, downloading a plug-in search engines to allow participants suggested visual search, including images, charts and maps.
Supported Operating Systems

* Windows Vista 32-bit or 64-bit with a minimum of 512MB of RAM and 115 MB of disk space
It is strongly recommended to upgrade Internet Explorer 8. You can download Internet Explorer 8 here. Download and install Internet Explorer 8 now.
